Parent and Player Expectations

Communication
The Wick FC organization utilizes an app called GameChanger. The coach will communicate directly with the parent(s) and/or guardians via the GameChanger app regarding training sessions and games. It is strongly encouraged that each player's parent(s) and/or guardians download the GameChanger app to their phones. We ask that parent(s) and/or guardians respond promptly to training session and game day RSVP requests. With many players and numerous training sessions and games to coordinate, timely responses enable the coaches to be efficient and effective.

Attendance Policy
It is the expectation of the Wick FC organization and its coaches that players will attend ALL training sessions and games. If a training session or game must be missed, please communicate with the coach at least 24 hours in advance. We understand that things may arise; however, it is important to prioritize training sessions. Training sessions are more important than games at this age and are crucial to the player’s development. Players are expected to arrive at training sessions 10 minutes prior to the start time, dressed and ready to begin. Players are expected to arrive at games 30 minutes prior to the start time, dressed and ready to warm up.

Player Behavior
Players reflect the Wick FC organization both on and off the pitch. Players are expected to attend training sessions and games with a positive attitude, discipline, and a commitment to personal and team growth. Additionally, players should behave professionally during training and games. This includes displaying good sportsmanship and showing respect for coaching staff, referees, teammates, and opposing players.

Playing Time
The starting line-up and playing time will be determined by the coach based on participation at training sessions, attitude and effort. If a perceived lack of playing time is observed, please communicate with your coach.

Uniforms
Players are expected to arrive at games in their proper uniform. At the start of the Fall season, players will purchase a uniform kit that includes (1) home jersey and (1) away jerseys, shorts, and socks.

Sideline Behavior
We ask that all parents professionally represent the Wick FC organization. There is NO shouting from the sidelines, unless it is to cheer in a positive manner. Shouting at and/or harassing the officials will not be allowed. This only hurts our teams and the reputation of our organization in the long run. The officials are humans. Mistakes happen. Please leave any dialogue with the officials to the coaches. Do not comment on players from the opposing teams. If there is a problem with a player or parent from an opposing team, please refrain from engaging and let your coach know after the game. If any negative behavior exists during a game, parties involved will be asked to leave the fields.

24 Hour Rule
Allow 24 hours before speaking to the coach after a game if there is a situation you are dissatisfied with. This allows both parties a cool down period and time to reflect on the game and/or situation. Please keep in mind that our coaches are volunteers.

REMEMBER…. IT IS ONLY A GAME
Your attitude on the sidelines can affect the mood and success of the team and the organization. If the coaches feel that your sideline behavior is hurting team performance in any way, you will be promptly advised. Any player, parent or spectator who persists in negative behavior after being warned by the coach will be asked to leave the vicinity of the field. If this behavior continues to exist, the Wick FC organization reserves the right to remove you from the league following a disciplinary action committee decision.
